This is because Austin, the most popular online beauty product seller in mainland China, began to develop its own beauty blog on Weibo last year, which has attracted the attention of many women in the field of beauty. Many bloggers actively establish contacts and recommend other bloggers to their followers, so as to get more followers and more reading together. So, are those bloggers more closely connected? What kind of blogger will get more interaction from other bloggers?

Among them, the size of the yellow circle represents the relative number of their followers. The larger the circle, the more followers. The arrow indicates that one of the bloggers is following or mentioning the blogger in the direction of arrow. The thicker the arrow, the closer the connection between the two.

Austin, which has the highest reputation among all bloggers, received the most interactions and was also in the center of the interactive graph. Among the 15 bloggers, 10 people follow him, and 9 people mentioned him on Weibo. Junping, one in the 15 bloggers, once posted, “Beauty bloggers should pay attention to Austin. His professionalism is worth learning.”

However, although Austin has some interactions with other bloggers, it doesn’t seem to have a particularly close relationship with those bloggers. The betweenness centrality between Austin and other bloggers, which represents the degree to which other bloggers establish contact with other bloggers through him, is 0. To a certain extent, this reflects that Austin has not established an information transfer relationship with other bloggers too much. Similarly, Austin’s closeness centrality, which represents the closeness of his relationship with other bloggers, is only 0.02.

In comparison, the Betweenness centrality and closeness centrality of Little P, whose blog has 350million followers and has been around for ten years, are 20 and 0.027, much higher than him.

In addition, the blogger Sus1414 with 1.4 million followers is the most proactive in establishing connections with others. Her Weibo account was established last year, but her followers were growing very fast. She often took the initiative to mention other bloggers on Weibo, which made some bloggers recommended her to her fans.

Bloggers with relatively more interactions received or actively sent are in the middle of the network graph.

Interestingly, six male bloggers among the 15 bloggers on the picture, Jiujiu, Austin, Little P, Fupeng, Dangmei, and Jasonlu are located together. The relationship between them is closer than they are relative to other female bloggers. Male bloggers’ personal interests are more similar, which makes it easier for them to become friends.

In addition, these bloggers who have the same secondary area other than ​​beauty, are more closely connected. The five bloggers Ricejunjun, Wanzi, Miya, Dangmei, and Wateregg, have the same secondary field which is Food and stay closer to each other in the image rather the others whose secondary areas are all Fashion.
